TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Week 1 of the high school football season is here. Godby and Lincoln, two Leon County rivals and it's been the marquee match-up the last week of the season for close to the last decade.

Well not this year, Godby and Lincoln are kicking off the season this year and it's our Friday Night Overtime Game of the Week.

The biggest intangible Godby has going in? They have a game under their belt. Lincoln's game was canceled last week thanks to weather...

Lincoln coach Quinn Gray, looking at the positive, he's gotten to look at Godby and they have no film on him...

Both coaches are expecting a physical game. Godby's Brandon McCray notes that Lincoln's defense is good and the Trojans are expecting the same from Godby. This game may not be at the end of the year, but bragging rights are still on the line and a win would be a great way to kick off the season.

"We really don't have to preach much focus because they're dialed in and they're ready to go and they're ready to compete with those guys," said McCray.

"It's Godby. I mean, Lincoln Godby, that's all you have to say. Our guy shave been ready for this since the summer because they knew this was the first one," said Gray.

Friday night's match-up kicks at 7:00 p.m. at Gene Cox Stadium in Tallahassee. We'll have highlights of this game plus a whole lot more on Friday Night Overtime.
