The only thing better than an Italian ice is a free Italian ice!
If you stop by a participating Rita’s location on March 19, which happens to be the first day of spring, you can get a free Italian ice in a specially-designed, festive cup. You don’t even have to buy anything to get the freebie!
Rita’s announced the giveaway on Facebook this month, telling people to save the date, while also announcing that locations nationwide are now open for the year.
The freebies are a longstanding tradition at Rita’s. They’ve been marking the change of seasons for more than 25 years by handing out complimentary ices — with the option to top them with a scoop of frozen custard for a small charge.
Here’s what that looks like, courtesy of Rita’s on Instagram:
Not to be outdone, Dairy Queen has a freebie day of its own happening on March 20.
Also marking the first day of spring — the vernal equinox begins March 19 and goes into March 20 — DQ will be giving away free soft-serve ice cream cones at participating locations.
The bummer of that deal is that you can only get a small vanilla soft-serve ice cream cone. But if it’s variety you crave, DQ is offering a special price on all its soft-serve flavor dips from March 21-31.
Using a deal available on the DQ app, guests can snag a small soft-serve cone for just 50 cents. That includes the chain’s menu of dips: chocolate, butterscotch, orange dreamsicle and the new, somewhat elusive cotton candy flavor.
If those deals weren’t enough, DQ also has a deal on Blizzards happening now through March 15, where you can get a treat for 80 cents if you buy one at regular price. This offer is in celebration of the company’s 80th birthday.
If you weren’t ready for spring yet, I bet you are now!
