TALLAHASSEE, Fla.(WTXL) — There are always some nerves on the first day of school.
On top of the normal first day pressures, the bus ride to school will also look a lot different this year.
Number one: every student must wear mask.
If they don't have one it will be provided before they stop on the bus.
All bus drivers and assistants are required to wear mask. There's also assigned seating on each bus route.
But more than anything preparing your kids to ride the bus starts at home.
"Just educating the kids on washing their hands frequently. And again, just keeping the mask on all the way to the bus stop. And then on the bus keeping the mask on and continuing to help us," said James Cole, Leon County Director of Transportation.
