TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — With the economic uncertainties from the coronavirus, we here at ABC 27 are shining a light on businesses that are doing their part to help out the community while keeping their business open.
A local janitorial service says they've revamped their business to help keep the community safe.
Brian D Smith Cleaning Service was established in 2003 by Brian Smith while his then-fiance, Carlette, was overseas for Operation Iraqi Freedom.
When COVID-19 hit, the owners purchased PPE equipment for their employees, EPA and CDC certified chemicals, and electrostatic machines to help kill the coronavirus on contact.
"We implemented a training program for our employees and what we do, we train them how to use the chemicals, we train them how to dress in their PPE gear, we train them what to do if one of the staff or clients come to them and tell them that it is a COVID case, they know to report it to us," said Carlette Smith.
They know how important cleanliness is to the safety of the community so they created a re-opening plan for churches.
"Churches are a hot spot, so we created a six to seven-page re-opening plan that details disinfection and cleaning services," Carlette Smith said. "We come out, we present, or we'll present through Zoom, and we'll disinfect the church services before services and after services."
Smith says right now they are offering a 25 percent discount on disinfecting services.
