VALDOSTA, Ga. -- A Valdosta man is facing charges in the investigation of a purse snatching at a local Walmart store.

The incident happened on Wednesday, March 27 in the parking lot of the Walmart at 340 Norman Drive. The victim, Tenna Buchanan, says that a man approached her, held a knife to her, and demanded her purse.

Buchanan says she struggled with him, but he was able to snatch the purse and run away. She received a minor cut on her arm, which is believed to be a result of the knife.

Officers responded, but couldn't find the suspect. Detectives also responded and began their investigation.

After reviewing surveillance video from the store, they identified and a suspect, 45-year-old Kenneth Lewis. Lewis was brought in for questioning and taken to the Leon County Jail. An arrest warrant charging him with armed robbery has been issued, and more charges may be filed.
