BRISTOL, FL (WTXL) - A Bristol woman is in jail after law enforcement says she forged the Liberty County Property Appraiser's signature on over $10,000 worth of checks.
According to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, Julia Suber wrote paychecks to herself, forging the property appraiser's signature.
Suber was the assistant property appraiser for Liberty County.
It is believed she wrote seven checks totaling to more than $10,000 in extra pay.
She is being charged with embezzlement, grand theft, forgery, uttering, and official misconduct.
Suber turned herself into the Liberty County jail on Tuesday and is being held on a $145,000 bond.
