SUWANNEE COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - The Suwannee County Fire Rescue says that a two car accident in Branford sent one to the hospital with serious injuries.
The said that the crash happened on Wednesday afternoon on the intersection of U.S. 27 and C.R. 49 in Branford.
When crews arrived, the found two cars with serious damage and a blocked roadway.
One of the people involved in the accident was transported by Medic-3 to UF Health for treatment of serious injuries.
They say the other four people involved did not sustain serious injuries and did not need hospitalization.
Due to the load of watermelons that was thrown onto the road, traffic remained congested for a while.
The Florida Highway Patrol was on scene investigating the cause.
