WAKULLA COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - If you have food spoilage or green yard debris, or both, as a result of Hurricane Michael, you can dispose of it for free from Monday through Friday at the Lower Bridge Landfill.
Wakulla County officials say the landfill will accept those kinds of items until Friday, Oct. 19, 2018, at no charge.
The Landfill is not accepting construction debris.
Additionally, debris contractors will be picking up construction debris and green yard debris staring mid this week.
If you have construction debris and/or green yard debris and want it picked up, county officials say place it curbside.
County staff will be meeting with the debris contractors on Monday and say they will provide additional information soon.
One Wakulla resident says the service makes life easier.
"It helps us out because we had like four trees fall on our property, so we are cutting them up and trying to bring them in as best we can," said Walter Couchman.
