GADSDEN COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - A Gadsden County High School teacher is under fire after a video went viral showing the teacher verbally abusing a student.

On Friday, September 28, during English class at Gadsden County High School, a student recorded a verbal altercation between a teacher and another student. The teacher’s name is Prance Berry, according to the Gadsden County High School’s staff directory. 

In the full video, you see Miss Berry eventually confronting the student. The student then yells at to Berry to "get out of my face." Berry replied with an abusive term towards the student.

Now, there was no physical contact between Miss Berry and the student.

Gadsden County Superintendent Roger Milton says the school board is investigating the incident.

"We value all of our employees with the district, we realize that classroom management we'll be looking into that. Discipline of our students and we realize that many of our students are going through issues and things as well as our employees. We value everyone that is employed with the Gadsden County School District, we will ensure that we take action and do what's appropriate and what's in the best interests of our students and our staff."

Milton said Miss Berry is on administrative leave with pay during the investigation.
