TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) -- Tallahassee Police officers are investigating a hit and run that took place right after midnight Sunday.

Officers say it happened in the area of Hartsfield road just east of Mission road.

Tallahassee police say a pedestrian was struck by a gold SUV, possibly a Toyota 4-Runner, which then left the area.

Police say the vehicle they're looking for may have some front end damage.

A resident of the area says it's scary something like this can happen in his neighborhood.

“There’s students walking this way everyday you know there's kids…I walk my dogs, my pet you know once or twice of three times a week and I definitely don't want to be caught in a position where somebody was hit and took off and ran,” said resident Kenneth Mickens.

Tallahassee police are asking anyone with more information about this case to call 850-891-4200.
