TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Last week city commissioner's voted to move forward with opening two new parks in Tallahassee.
WTXL's Jada Williams spoke to a representative from Tallahassee Parks and Recreation about the plans ahead.
The two new parks will be in Tallahassee's northwest and southeast part, parts of town that don't have a park in the immediate area.
The northwest park will be at Fred George and Mission Roads.
The southeast park will be at Tram Road and School House Road.
The new parks will provide baseball fields and places for pickleball, basketball and tennis.
Designs for the parks will start immemdiatedly, construction will start in the fall, and the parks are expected to be open by September 2019.
