SUWANNEE Co., FL (WTXL) - Authorities have said what they believe happened to a 27-year-old Wellborn woman killed in Suwannee County.
The Florida Highway Patrol says Brittany Slaughter was found dead early Sunday morning, after she was hit on 51st Drive. They say the vehicle that hit her and then left the scene.
FHP is working with the Suwannee County Sheriff's Office to try to find the driver and vehicle involved.
Slaughter's funeral has been scheduled for 2 p.m. on Friday at the Pine-Mount Baptist Church in Live Oak.
