TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Florida State University will host an Oscar's party this Sunday.

On the heels of their 2017 win for Barry Jenkins' Moonlight, they now have three film school alumnus with 2018 Oscar nominations this year for their contributions to the films Dunkirk, The Last Jedi, and Kong.

The Dean of FSU Film school says that these nominations add to the near-thirty year success story of the program, and that he looks forward to his alumnus bringing home another win.

"It raises our profile, which is great for the students, it allows us to bring in more exciting filmmakers here to up the ante on our education and to increase the networking opportunities," said FSU College of Motion Picture Arts Dean Red Braddock. "Which is really basically how their careers get started, and how they continue to have careers, so it's a big deal."

The Oscar party will take place this Sunday at Fifth and Thomas.
