THOMASVILLE, Ga. (WALB) - Thomasville Police are on the look out for reckless drivers behind the wheel.

They say it's that time of the year when more drivers will be on the road.

With summer months fast approaching, there will be more drivers on the streets in Thomasville according to the Police Department.

Patrol officers will be out looking for those who are under the influence of alcohol/drugs behind the wheel or with suspended or revoked driver's license, suspended registration, expired tags ,no insurance and other violations.

Another area of concern is distracted driving by those who are texting or doing other things that takes their eye off the road.

During planned road checks, drivers in violation will be cited or arrested if they are caught breaking the law.

You can plan to see increased officer patrols out on the roads.

We're told a road block will be set up within the city limits of Thomasville.

Every driver who passes through will be checked for valid license and insurance and any other obvious violations of road laws.
