TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The Tallahassee Fire Department said a fire at a home resulted in three of five residents being transported to a hospital for treatment of injuries.

TFD said the injuries happened Tuesday as the residents were evacuated from a fire in the 3500 block of Lakewood Drive North.

The first fire crews on the scene reported that flames were showing through the roof of the front of the single-family home.

The fire was extinguished before it overtook the entire building.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The Tallahassee Police Department, Leon County EMS, City of Tallahassee Utilities, and the American Red Cross all assisted.
