TAYLOR COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - The Taylor County Board of County Commissioners have declared a local state of emergency.
A voluntary evacuation has been advised for all coastal and low lying areas in Taylor County, which may escalate to a mandatory evacuation depending on the storm track.
Residents are urged to prepare as Hurricane Michael is predicted to be a category 3 hurricane when it reaches land.
Shelter time is expected to open at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Taylor County Elementary. If you choose to evacuate, please head out of the storm's path.
