Tallahassee teen arrested after leading police on pursuit in stolen car

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - A 14-year-old was arrested in Tallahassee after eluding law enforcement in a stolen car. 

On Wednesday, at about 12:15 p.m., TPD patrol officers were in the area of 550 East Tennessee Street due to traffic complaints. 

Officers found a stolen car being driven by a 14-year-old teenager and initialed a traffic stop. The 14-year-old continued to drive, trying to get away from officers.

TPD stated the Leon County Sheriff Office's helicopter followed his car as it fled to the area of Pricilla Lane and Orange Avenue Apartments.  

The 14-year-old was eventually arrested by TPD after a brief foot pursuit. 

He is being charged with grand theft of a motor vehicle, fleeing/eluding police, resisting an officer without violence, no valid driver's license, and trespass in dwelling.
