TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Streets in downtown Tallahassee will be closed Monday morning for the annual Law Enforcement Officer Memorial March and Ceremony.
Law enforcement agencies from across the state will attend the event, held yearly to honor officers who were lost in the line of duty during the previous year.
Call Street from Monroe to Bronough streets will be closed from 7:30 a.m. - 10 a.m. Monday for this event, as will Park Avenue westbound from Monroe to Adams streets, the city said in a news release.
Monroe Street will be closed between Tennessee and Madison streets from 8:45 a.m. -10 a.m.
Northbound traffic will be detoured east or west on Gaines Street to pick up Duval Street or Calhoun Street to Apalachee Parkway.
Southbound traffic will be detoured east or west on Tennessee Street to pick up either Bronough or Calhoun streets.
Side streets along this stretch of Monroe Street, including Apalachee Parkway, will also be impacted during this time, as traffic will not be able to cross.
Hundreds of law enforcement officers, along with friends and family members of fallen officers, will march together along Monroe Street from Call Street to the steps of the Capitol where the ceremony will take place.
