TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) - Tallahassee Firefighters report they were able to safely extinguish a fire that started in the back of a home on Ruthenia road, ultimately keeping the fire from spreading further.

Tallahassee Fire Department responded at 1am Friday morning after a call reported a fire had started in the back of the resident's home. TFD says the first arriving unit found the fire and was able to extinguish it before it spread beyond the room of origin.

According to TFD, it is believed the cause of the fire was electrical, likely stemming from a back room water heater.

The resident was safely evacuated and no other injuries were reported.
