TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) - The Tallahassee Police Department celebrated Thursday afternoon with their annual holiday luncheon.
Current and retired officers were in attendance, cheering as their peers received awards for their dedication and hard work. Chief Michael DeLeo handed out the awards and commanding officers nominated those who received awards.
Chief DeLeo says, "We recognize a year long's effort of outstanding work by officers, investigators, our civilian support staff and all the contributions they make to our community."
Retired officers helped prepare the delicious food, serving officers and their families.
Chief DeLeo says the ceremony falls at the perfect time of year to get in the holiday spirit.
