TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) - A Tallahassee man was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison for cyberstalking.

According to court documents, Michael Rubens admitted to stalking women online, hacking into their accounts to steal their personal information.

He admitted to authorities in December 2015 that between January 2012 and January 2015, he had publicly humiliated dozens of young women by hacking into their online accounts, stealing pictures to create pornography.

His victims, who included a local restaurant employee and an ex-girlfriend, say they became afraid to do anything online. Court documents show the 31-year-old's laptop contained 470 files with more than 5,00 references to one particular victim.

Rubens also has to pay a $15,000 fine and $1,550 restitution for cyberstalking.
