TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - A man was arrested Thursday night for threatening a Tallahassee Police officer with a gun, telling dispatchers he was, "going to kill the officer."

According to the Tallahassee Police Department, officers arrived at a home on Fox Run Court just after 7 p.m. where John Clarkson was taken into custody. Police say Clarkson called 911, claiming his son was bringing marijuana into the house.

When the officer responded, Clarkson's son was no where to be found and that's when police say Clarkson grew angry and brought out a gun. The police report says Clarkson called dispatch again and said he would "kill the officer if he returned."

After more officers arrived on scene, Clarkson was arrested and booked in the Leon County Jail. He is charged with aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer.
