TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Those choosing to fly out of the Tallahassee Airport may have noticed some recent changes.

The Tallahassee Airport spent nearly a million dollars over the summer to provide enhancements that would improve air service travel in and out of the Capital City.

The money used was appropriated from the state to the airport to allow for such improvements and renovations to be done.

Tallahassee International Airport used some of the money to buy a new "push back tractor," as well as several new baggage tractors and carts.

Though most of us won't see those up close as they are equipment used on the tarmac. Those traveling will be able to make use of the updated seating throughout the airport. Benches with outlets have been added to make sure all of your electronics are charged while you wait.

"If we can make the traveling experience as convenient and accessible as we possibly can for our travelers, I think they're going to notice some refreshing things in the very near future," said David Pollard, the Interim Director of Aviation at the Tallahassee International Airport.

Although there has not been talk of a new airline coming into Tallahassee, the airport is continuing it's improvements. TSA pre-check is expected to get it's own lane by November.
