TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The Tallahassee Fire Department received new hazardous materials response equipment today including a new 41-foot drop-deck tractor-trailer.

The vehicle will serve Tallahassee-Leon County and is also deploy-able by the state of Florida for responses in region 2, which includes Leon County and 12 surrounding counties.

Officials say, the specialized vehicle will help protect life and the environment by responding to chemical emergencies and minimizing the dangers associated with them.

Officials say, the new addition will be customized with a variety of tools and equipment to aid and protect response teams during hazmat incidents.
