TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The Tallahassee Fire Department is now accepting applications for its Citizens' Fire Academy.
The academy allows participants to learn about the daily life of firefighters.
It's a hands on experience that will include lessons on emergency medical services, personal protective gear, and even live fire training.
To be eligible, you must be 18 years or older and either live or work in the City of Tallahassee- Leon County area.
The academy will meet each Thursday night for 6 weeks from May 7 through June 11.
All classes will be held at the Fire Department training classroom on Municipal Way.
