TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Local builders gathered today to discuss the real estate market, and how Tallahassee is planning to attract new businesses to the area.
The "Tallahassee Builder's Association" held its annual "Economic Forecast Discussion Panel" Thursday morning.
This new business attraction is spear-headed by the Office of Economic Vitalilty.
Al Latimer, the director of this office, hopes to create a strategic plan that will increase the amount of hotels and multi-use developments.
He says that upscale accommodations typically bring in more business travelers, while multi-use buildings show the community's enthusiam for new concepts.
In all, there are close to 100 projects around the city including restaurants, retail space, hotels, and residential construction.
