SWAT Team tryouts held in Midway

Posted

MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) - SWAT Team tryouts were held Thursday morning at the Florida Public Safety Institute in Midway.

From running and shooting, to climbing rope, and everything in between, SWAT team hopefuls were put to the test to see if they have what it takes to protect and serve.

"We would go out there and tell them go, go, go. This is a big camaraderie type of group of guys. We're all tight knit. We all encourage each other," said Tien Cao, Paramedic with Leon County EMS. "We never put each other down. We always carry. You never leave a man behind, and help each other out."

The candidates had to finish the course in 8 minutes and 4 seconds or they failed and had to take the test again.
