OCALA, Fla. (AP) - Authorities say a man is dead following a shootout with Florida deputies during a brief standoff outside an Ocala gas station.

The Ocala Star-Banner reports that 31-year-old Cristiaan Oliver Dubrino died at a hospital Wednesday night shortly after the standoff.

Marion County Sheriff's spokesman Ryan Robbins says Sgt. Daniel Trammell was also shot in the leg, but he is expected to recover.

Deputies arrived at the Marathon gas station after receiving a 911 call about an armed man inside a vehicle.

Robbins says the man told deputies he had three firearms and was going to kill himself and officers. At one point, he got out of the vehicle and paced back and forth before pointing a gun at deputies while holding another to his head. Then he opened fire.

The race of those involved in the shooting wasn't available.
