Suspect in Valdosta shooting still at large

VALDOSTA, Ga. (WTXL) - Valdosta Police Department are searching and have identified Kenneth Diamond Fountain as the suspect in shooting that left one in critical condition.  

The incident happened on Saturday, June 24 in the 1000 block of Ponderosa Drive.

Detectives have obtained arrest warrants for Fountain for:

  • Aggravated Assault (FELONY)
  • Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Crime (FELONY)

Officers say Fountain's location is unknown at this time. He is described as a black male, being approximately 5’11 in height, and weighing 155 pounds.

Fountain should be considered armed and dangerous. If anyone knows of his whereabouts, please call 911.


A person has been hospitalized with gunshot wounds to the chest after a shooting in Valdosta.

The Valdosta Police Department says that on June 24 around 11:30 p.m., they were called to the 1000 block of Ponderosa Drive about a person who had been shot.

When they arrived, they found the person suffering with a gunshot wound to the chest.  Valdosta Police say they began giving first aid before getting the person taken to a local hospital.

The victim’s information is being withheld at this time. Police say the victim is listed in critical but stable condition. 

The investigation is ongoing as VPD interviews witnesses and reviews evidence.
