TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- A man is facing marijuana charges after being accused of throwing two bags of pot out of a car window shortly before a traffic stop.

Madison County Sheriff Ben Stewart says that the incident happened on Tuesday, March 12, off of Interstate 10.

As Cpl. Jason Whitfield attempted to pull over a vehicle for speeding, he notices a plastic bag containing a green, leafy substance being thrown out of one of the back windows.

Using canine assistance, officials were able to find two plastic bags containing marijuana. More marijuana residue and an empty plastic bag were found in the backseat of the car.

The passenger in the backseat was identified as 19-year-old Braxton Decarlos Wright of Riverview, Florida.

He's charged with possession of marijuana.
