COVINGTON, Ga. (AP) - About 30 elementary students and adults have been hospitalized after a crash involving two school buses in Newton County.
The Covington News reports the accident happened on Salem Road near McGiboney Place in Covington Tuesday.
Georgia State Patrol officials say one school bus rear ended another after it stopped to unload passengers. The newspaper reports the buses were carrying students from Rocky Plains Elementary School, which is near the scene of the crash.
Authorities say the students and adults have been taken to the Newton Medical Center. It is unclear if anyone was severely injured in the crash.
Covington is about 35 miles southeast of Atlanta.
