THOMAS COUNTY, GA (WTXL) - The Thomas County Sheriff's Office said it has recovered more than thirty street signs that were stolen across three counties.
The Sheriff's Office said it was alerted July 29th about a photo posted on social media showing the stolen signs. After investigating, deputies said they discovered more than half a dozen individuals, both minors and adults.
On Tuesday, those individuals returned several of the signs to Thomas County officials. The Sheriff's Office said that removing signs poses a serious danger to the community and to first responders.
The Sheriff's Office also said it was unsure how many more signs have been stolen. The signs were from Thomas, Brooks and Mitchell counties. No one has been charged in the theft ring yet according to deputies.
