TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Today, a Leon County school employee was surprised by the Leon County superintendent and school board.
An employee at Springwood Elementary School was recognized as the LCS school related employee of the year.
Kathy Cantrell works in the front office at the elementary school and was greeted by a crowd of supporters outside the building.
Superintendent Rocky Hanna presented her with the award.
It recognizes an employees ability to create student support and relationships with the community.
Other finalists this year include Majorie Beal with Chaires Elementary, Katherine Eaton with W. T. Moore Elementary, Michael Hightower with intervention, equity and support services, and Vincent Johnson with Griffin Middle School.
