TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - A Tallahassee restaurant has to shut its doors for now all due to a fire that broke out Tuesday night.

WTXL ABC 27's Jada Williams stopped by the Sonny's Barbecue on Timberlane Road Wednesday morning.

Just looking at it from the outside, you wouldn't know that the building caught fire. In fact, there's a faint smell of smoke, but nothing too bad.

However, the inside of the restaurant paints a different story.

TFD says crews worked on the fire at Sonny's BBQ on Timberlane Road just off of Thomasville Road. That fire started close to 9 p.m. Tuesday.

Multiple units were sent out, and there was assistance from the Tallahassee Police Department and the Leon County EMS.

Although people were inside the restaurant when the fire broke out, TFD says there are no injuries.

"We got a quick knock down," said TFD spokesperson Sarah Cooksey. "We put two aerials devices in the air and did a vertical roof ventilation. We got the fire knocked down and under control within the hour."

Cooksey said there was a four-minute response time. The fire caused no injuries but resulted in $200,000 in damages to the building.

The state is now investigating the cause of the fire.
