THOMAS COUNTY, Ga. (WTXL) - Robert Carter appeared before a judge Tuesday and now faces 13 charges related to holding a family of three hostage at their home in Ocklocknee on Friday.
Thomas County deputies say Carter managed to escape before they arrived, and they found the family bound.
Sunday afternoon an officer found him hiding in the river about a half a mile away.
The 13 new charges are in addition to the nine he faces for an armed robbery and kidnapping last Thursday on Sherwood Drive in Thomasville, meaning Carter now faces a total of 22 charges.
