TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Circus themed games, raffles, cotton candy, and popcorn. Florida State University's Landis Green transformed into the Big Top Tuesday with fun-filled activities to raise money for a serious cause.
Relay For Life at FSU is making the most of Giving Tuesday with their Circus for a Cure fundraiser.
Their goal, to raise over $17,000 for the American Cancer Society with the donation based activities at Tuesday's event and online fundraising.
The light-hearted event starts the fundraising season for Relay For Life and organizers say the money raised goes a long way toward helping those with cancer.
"We fund free rides to chemo treatments, free lodging for patients as well as different resource programs, and a 100 hotline if they have any questions about their treatment or anything during their time."
Even if you missed Tuesday's Circus for a Cure event you can still donate. Relay for Life is having a 24-hour fundraising campaign that will go until 9:00 a.m. Wednesday.
If you would like to donate online, their website is relayforlife.org/FSUFL
