QUINCY, Fla. (WTXL) - Quincy's "Main Street Program" just received a special honor from the state.
Earlier this week, Florida's secretary of state designated Quincy the April 2017 "Main Street Program of the Month."
Quincy has been part of the "Florida Main Street Program" for 30 years.
Secretary of State Ken Detzner said the city's "commitment to the arts sets an example of community involvement" for the rest of the state.
Quincy has worked on revitalizing its downtown business district and city leaders say this recognition highlights their work.
The Quincy Main Street Program is doing something new this year. Rather than hold "Quincyfest" next month as usual, they're combining it with another festival in October.
