TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - If you've been a victim of a bizarre burglary and live at the Forum apartment complex or at West 10 apartments, you may want to contact police.
Iyonna S. Brown, 26, now a suspect in multiple investigations regarding apartment burglaries, was booked into jail on Thursday.
On Dec. 21, arrest documents say the victim called 911 to report that he had been sleeping when he awoke to see an unknown female, later identified as Brown, walking inside his apartment at the Forum apartment complex.
According to court documents, the victim confronted Brown, saying "You robbed me! You robbed me!"
He told investigators that he had been previously been the victim of a burglary where someone stole several Apple devices and a Super Nintendo from his apartment.
The victim's neighbor also had been the victim of a burglary and described the suspect to the victim. The victim added that, when he saw the suspect in his home, she matched the description of his neighbor's burglary suspect.
Documents say that when the victim confronted Brown, she told him "I'm here to buy weed from Tre in room D." The victim told investigators he knew Brown was lying because apartment D is unoccupied and he didn't know a person named Tre.
The victim then grabbed Brown and began walking her toward the front door to get her out of his apartment.
That's when the victim said Brown became angry and resisted, slapping the victim on his face before running away.
Documents say another officer later found Brown walking along the sidewalk on West Tennessee Street.
Brown was arrested and transported to the Tallahassee Police Department for an interview.
Documents say she admitted investigators that she had gone into the victim's apartment without his permission, watched him sleeping, and slapped him as he tried to force her out of his apartment.
Based on the evidence, Brown was arrested and charged with burglary with assault.
Because Brown is a suspect in multiple burglaries at the Forum and West 10 apartment complexes, documents say TPD investigators requested that she be given an electronic GPS monitoring device if she is released.
According to court documents, Brown has also been charged for another burglary at the Forum apartments where she allegedly broke into an apartment at the West 10 apartment complex, took chicken from the refrigerator, and tried to warm it up in the apartment's microwave before being caught.
As of Friday, she remains in the Leon County Detention Center on a $30,000 bond for burglary with assault and burglary (no assault).
