TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - A Tallahassee woman is behind bars after police say she robbed a man at gunpoint over a pair of iPhones.
According to court documents, Tallahassee police responded to the 700 block of Appleyard Drive in regards to an armed robbery that occurred on Tuesday.
When officers arrived on the scene, they spoke with the victim who told them he had just been robbed at gunpoint. The victim went on to tell police that 23-year-old Lazasha Baskin stole two iPhones from him.
Police say the victim claimed he knew Baskin and knew she was always trying to buy and sell items. The victim told police that he had arranged to sell Baskin two iPhones and she agreed to meet with him on Tuesday.
Documents say when Baskin arrived to the agreed meeting point, she got out of her car and hopped in the back seat of the victim's car. When the victim handed Baskin the phones, she held a gun to his head for a couple of seconds then exited the vehicle with out paying for the phones.
Police also spoke with a witness who was in the car during the time of the robbery and their account corroborated the victim's story.
After speaking with the victim and witness, police continued investigating and later found Baskin walking on Hayden Road.
Police say Baskin told them that she went to meet up with the victim to discuss the money he had previously lent her. Baskin denied that she robbed the victim.
Based on the evidence, Baskin was arrested and transported to the Leon County Detention Center. Baskin is being charged with robbery with a firearm and grand theft.
She is being held on a $51,000 bond.
