TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - A Tallahassee man is behind bars after police say sent a woman to the hospital twice in one week and held her against her will.

According to court documents, Tallahassee Police responded to Capital Regional Hospital for a battery investigation on Jan. 24.

Police say the victim had been sent to the hospital twice in one week, after being physically abused on two separate occasions. During the investigation, officers spoke with the victim who they say had a large cut on her forehead and multiple bruises on her arms and legs.

The victim told officers that 19-year-old Joseph Hogan had physically abused her. Documents say Hogan was arrested back in August 2018 for abusing the victim.

According to the victim, on Jan.22, Hogan became angry with the victim during an argument and shoved an unhinged door into her face.

Two days later, Hogan became angry with the victim again and, as a result, took the victim's phone away. Documents say Hogan then knocked the victim to the floor and physically held her against her will.

The victim said that Hogan ordered her to stay in the bedroom where he could contain her. While in the bedroom, document say Hogan hit the victim again in the face and busted her lip.

The victim told police that she had to wait until Hogan went to sleep in order to escape from the home and go to Capital Regional Hospital.

After weeks of investigating, Police finally arrested and transported Hogan to the Leon County Detention Center, on Tuesday. He is facing a series of charges including aggravated battery and false imprisonment.
