TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - New details are being revealed about the officer-involved shooting that happened Tuesday morning.

It happened around 4 a.m.

Initially, TPD responded to Golden Park Lane for a stolen Ford F-150 truck. Minutes later, officers spotted that same truck on North Monroe Street.

Police says during that traffic stop 20-year-old Curtis Thomas rammed the truck into the patrol car.

TPD says the officer, Sergeant Chris Papy, was outside the patrol car and fired his gun at Thomas.

Thomas surrendered and was taken into custody.

No one was hurt.

As part of police department procedure, Sergeant Papy has been placed on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.
