Operation Border Control nets 7 arrests in Leon, Wakulla counties

WAKULLA COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - The Wakulla County Sheriff's Office says they have arrested seven and have warrants pending for 10 more.

WCSO says that Operation Border Control culminated Friday with 34 arrest warrants for 17 people each charged with multiple counts of possession and sale of crack cocaine, cocaine hydrochloride, methamphetamine or other drugs.

They say the primary targets of the investigation were drug dealers know to sell drugs to Wakulla County residents. 

As a result, 17 of the arrest warrants were for 8 Leon County residents and the remaining 17 arrest warrants were for 9 Wakulla County residents. 

On Friday around 8 a.m., WCSO and the Leon County Sheriff's Office fanned out across both counties to make arrest. They were able to arrest seven of the 17. The names of those arrested are below:

  • George Howell – one arrest warrant, charging him with possession and sale of crack cocaine. (Leon County)
  • Dewayne Jackson – three arrest warrants, each charging him with possession and sale of crack cocaine. (Leon County)
  • Terry Brown – three arrest warrants, each charging him with possession and sale of crack cocaine. (Leon County)
  • Johnnie Chapman – three arrest warrants, each charging him with possession and sale of crack cocaine. (Wakulla County)
  • David Sparks – one arrest warrant, charging him with possession and sale of Adderall. (Wakulla County)
  • Charles Agerton – one arrest warrant, charging him with possession and sale of methamphetamine. (Wakulla County)
  • James Hancock – one arrest warrant, charging him with possession and sale of methamphetamine. (Wakulla County)

The Sheriff’s Office is confident it will find and arrest the remaining 10, concluding Operation Border Control.
