One local mall adds security during busy shopping season

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL)-- With just one day left until Christmas, today is one of the busiest days of the year when it comes to holiday shopping. As people all over the Big Bend are clamoring to get their last minute gifts, one local mall says increased security is a must. Governor’s Square Mall, General Manager Eric Litz says “it’s all about that last minute rush for people to get that special gift under the tree.” Litz said that even though the mall will close at six, they may see 25 to 30 thousand people today. With larger crowds comes a larger demand for mall security so as traffic in the mall goes up, they staff accordingly.

Security is a number one concern for the mall, says Litz, and they want to make sure that all of their customers and retailers have a safe and secure visit.
