TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Florida public safety officials and community members gathered Tuesday to recognize African-Americans in criminal justice all while enjoying some breakfast.

The theme for this year's event was 'African-Americans Embracing the Challenges in the World Today.'

Multiple agency heads, including the FSU police chief, FAMU police chief, and Gretna police chief served as servers, dishing up breakfast essentials like grits and eggs. Three local officials were honored, including Quincy police chief Glenn Sapp.

This is one of the biggest events for the Florida Public Safety Institute.
