A marketing company out of Colorado polled 10,000 shoppers to find America's favorite grocery store. That company - Market Force - reported their findings on their website. Publix Super Markets came in second on that list; Kroger came in eighth.
To come up with the rankings, Market Force asked people to rate their satisfaction with their most recent trip to the grocery store and the likelihood they'd recommend that market to a friend.
The top choice was New York-based Wegmans, with Publix coming in second on the list. Publix was also found to have the cleanest stores, stock the most-wanted items, be the fastest at checkout time, and have the best specialty departments.
At the bottom of the list was Walmart. They came in last for every category except for item availability and specialty departments - that distinction went to Aldi.
