PETA officials are now calling for an investigation in the death of Congrats Gal and are asking for the release of all medication and veterinary records pertaining to the horse.

The animal rights group says they plan to contact the district attorney's office in hopes to appoint a task force to investigate training and veterinary practices in Maryland.

The Stronach Group says they will conduct a full necropsy in an effort to determine the horse's cause of death.
