WAKULLA COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - Seven people were arrested in Wakulla County for selling and using drugs out of a home after deputies received multiple complaints from residents.
During the early morning hours on Friday, detectives from the Criminal Investigations Division of the Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office did a search warrant at the home of Carl Cocroft on 5 Summer Lane and arrested seven people.
WCSO said this was the second narcotics-related search warrant done at the home in the last 10 months.
WCSO has received multiple complaints from residents alleging drug activity at 5 Summer Lane.
This month, detectives of the CID obtained probable cause to believe there was methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia present at 5 Summer Lane and obtained a search warrant to search the property.
When the search warrant was conducted on Friday, the home was occupied by Chelsea Hiser, Andrew McMillan, Ashley Albert, Billy Jo Jones, Brandon Taylor, Marianne Bradford, Wayne Finch, and Carl Cocroft.
During the search of the home, CID detectives found and seized multiple items of evidence indicative of the sale and use of illegal drugs, including multiple packages of methamphetamine [including one package weighing approximately 23.2 grams (with a street value of approximately $1,000)], multiple packages containing marijuana, a digital scale, a syringe, and smoking devices.
Based on the evidence found, deputies arrested the following people and booked them into the Wakulla County Jail on the following charges:
• Carl Malcolm Cocroft – Maintaining a Public Nuisance place where controlled substances are illegally kept, sold, or used
• Andrew McMillan – Trafficking in Methamphetamine; possession with the intent to sell Methamphetamine; and possession of drug paraphernalia.
• Ashley Albert – Active arrest warrant from Wakulla County for shoplifting; and an active arrest warrant from Leon County for failure to appear on a possession of Methamphetamine charge.
• Billy Jo Jones – Possession of Methamphetamine; and possession of drug paraphernalia (Methamphetamine)
• Brandon Taylor – Maintaining a Public Nuisance place where controlled substances are illegally kept, sold, or used
• Marianne Bradford – Possession of drug paraphernalia (Marijuana)
• Wayne Finch - Maintaining a Public Nuisance place where controlled substances are illegally kept, sold, or used; and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Although probable cause existed to do so, Chelsea Hiser was not arrested on Friday because of a serious injury she recently sustained during a traffic crash.
However, detectives intend to obtain an arrest warrant for her at a future date.
