TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - This week marks the beginning of Tobacco Free Florida Week.

The week is dedicated to prevent, educate and encourages Floridians to stop using tobacco products.

According to Leon County Florida Department of Health, ever since the program started, the smoking rates have decreased in Leon County, however some populations are still at risk.

"While the rates overall continue to go downward they're are certain populations where we're seeing increased usage," said Dr. Kellie O'Dare, the Tobacco Free Florida Bureau Chief. "So we want to bring the message that we have resources available to assist those populations in quitting smoking for good."
