Man Wanted for Shooting Near Thomas University Arrested

LOWNDES COUNTY, Ga. (WTXL) - The man wanted in the shooting near Thomas University has been arrested in Lowndes County.

According to Thomasville Police Capt. Maurice Holmes, Marcus Walden was taken into custody this morning. 

The Lowndes County Sheriff Ashley Paulk tells us Walden was found at a motel on Hill Avenue with drugs in the room after they received anonymous information.

This all happened between 7 and 8 a.m. 

On February 20, shots were exchanged between two cars on South Street near Pear Street. Police say Sharron Thompson previously turned himself in. He was charged with reckless conduct.

A bullet hit the student life center, causing students to evacuate that afternoon and the campus to shut down.
