TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) - The man who hit an 18-year-old with his car in 2014 and then left the scene, was sentenced on Monday.

Devon Dwyer plead to no contest, according to court documents. He was sentenced to serve 30 months in the Department of Corrections and then spend 8 years on probation.

Dwyer is eligible to reducing the amount of probation after 4 years if he follows his probation conditions and commits no new offenses, says the courts.

Jackie Faircloth was 18 when she was hit in the 600 block of Pensacola Street in 2014. Dwyer is said to have fled the scene but was later discovered after his passenger went to police.

That passenger, Jacob Salow, told police that Dwyer was texting when he hit Faircloth and then tried to hide the truck at a friend's house.
